R13 Recruitment are proud to be working alongside a fantastic business that makes a massive impact on the lives of young people. They are currently looking for a Senior Residential Care Worker to join their team in Reading.

This is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours per week (including rota & administrative shifts), based in Reading. The offered salary for this position is £31,000 per annum plus additional compensation for sleep-in duty.

Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring a stable, caring environment for young people within the organisations care.
  • Carrying out relevant safeguarding procedures.
  • Utilising therapeutic parenting techniques in daily interactions.
  • Utilising strong interpersonal skills to develop supportive relationships with young people, allowing them to form positive relationships.
  • Supporting young people in various aspects including education, health, hobbies, therapy etc..
  • Adhering to all regulatory and statutory requirements, ensure high service standards are maintained.

You will have /be:

  • Previous experience within a residential care setting.
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic interventions and regulatory standards is essential.
  • Level 3/4 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • An understanding & empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience handling challenging behaviour.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with all colleagues.
  • Resilient, positive, and self-motivated.
