Senior Town Planner - Newcastle
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Are you an experienced Town Planner ready to step into a more senior role with greater autonomy, exciting projects, and real progression potential? I'm working with a well-established planning consultancy in Newcastle that is looking to expand its team with a dynamic Senior Town Planner.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected multi-disciplinary firm with a strong pipeline of work across residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes. You'll be supported by a collaborative team of planners, surveyors, and environmental consultants, working on high-profile projects from initial strategy through to delivery.

The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will:

  • Lead and manage a variety of planning applications and appeals

  • Provide expert advice to clients across the public and private sectors

  • Prepare and submit complex planning applications and supporting documents

  • Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the team

  • Play a key role in business development and client relationship management

About You
To be considered, you should have:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited)

  • MRTPI chartership (or very close to achieving)

  • At least 5 years' experience in planning (consultancy or local authority)

  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system and policy framework

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A proactive, client-focused approach with strong commercial awareness
