Requirements
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
- Relevant GCSE, 'A' level or graduate qualifications or equivalent
- Relevant teaching assistant, care, or childcare qualifications
- Demonstrated resilience, compassion, and commitment to supporting SEN learners in an educational setting
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by students with SEN.
- Confidence to support lead educators across different subjects
- Ability to summarise and present information from observations of Children's performance
Roles and responsibilities
- Provide support to SEN learners across KS1-KS4 on a 1:1, small group, and classroom basis
- Provide teaching assistance in line with teacher-planned activities
- Help children reach their full potential across all areas of learning
- Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment
- Deliver high-quality educational activities aligned with the curriculum
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school training events
- Monitor and assess student progress under teacher guidance
- Communicate with parents and carers regarding child's progress
