Visual Impairment Sensory Needs Worker

We are collaborating with a Local Authority in Slough who are seeking a Visual Impairment Sensory Needs Worker to join their Adults Social Care Team in Slough.

Slough

£31.96 - £42 p/h Umbrella

30 hours per week

3 month initial contract with the view of extension

Hybrid working

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess and offer training to people in the community referred to the team, to maintain the independence and enhance their wellbeing.
  • Work to provide a support service to people with an identified visual impairment.
  • Identify, deliver and evaluate professional rehabilitation interventions to visually impaired people to enhance their skills and confidence to maximise their independence.
  • will involve assessing the needs of visually impaired service users, enabling them to consider the option available to increase independence, safety and enhance quality of life.

Requirements:

  • A foundation degree in Rehabilitation Work (Visual Impairment). Or the following: Rehabilitation Officer Certificate, Mobility Instructor and Technical Officer Certificate.
  • Specialist knowledge and understanding of the relevant issues surrounding visual impairment.
