Our client who has been established for over 15 years and pride themselves on delivering high quality vehicle repairs combined with outstanding customer service are seeking an experienced Service Advisor.

Job Summary:

The Service Advisor is the crucial link between their service department and their valued customers. You will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, accurately assessing vehicle needs, and effectively communicating service recommendations and costs. Your excellent communication and organisational skills will ensure a smooth and efficient service experience for every customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously upon arrival at the service department.
  • Listen attentively to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service requests.
  • Work collaboratively with service technicians to diagnose issues and identify necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Clearly explain technical information to customers in a way they can understand, including the diagnosis, recommended services, and associated costs.
  • Prepare accurate and transparent repair estimates, ensuring customer understanding and approval before work begins.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate service records and documentation.
  • Schedule service appointments and manage the service workflow to ensure timely completion.
  • Proactively communicate with customers regarding the status of their vehicle and any changes to the estimated completion time or cost.
  • Process payments and explain invoices to customers upon completion of service.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with the service received and address any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service reception area.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to foster trust and loyalty.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership or independent garage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical individuals.
  • Proficiency in using dealership management systems (DMS) and computer applications.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Technical aptitude and a general understanding of automotive systems.
  • Professional appearance and demeanour.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.

The working hours are Mon - Friday 08.00 - 18.00 with 1 hour for lunch.

Saturday mornings are worked on a 1 in 2 rota 08.00 - 12.30.
