We are looking for a skilled Service Desk Engineer to join my clients team based in Manchester on a contract basis. The successful candidate will provide First/Second Line support technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth IT operations.

Job Title: Service Desk Engineer

Location: Manchester, UK

Duration: 6 months

Start Date: ASAP

Day Rate:£250/day (Outside of IR35)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line IT support (hardware, software, network).
  • Respond to and resolve support tickets promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain systems and networks.
  • Document and track support requests.
  • Perform regular system updates and patches.
  • Monitor and manage network security, including firewalls and antivirus systems.
  • Assist in the deployment and management of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Support VoIP and telecommunication systems.
  • Implement and manage Active Directory services.
  • Provide support for virtual machines and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
