Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a manufacturer based in an easily commutable location near Selby to recruit a Service Engineer with a Control Systems bias to join their team.
Our client is looking for a Service Engineer who has experience in service work, especially with motion control software on various PLC platforms, with an aptitude to read, interpret and change coding.
Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate needs to be flexible and happy to travel, confident and used to dealing with customers both in the UK and internationally.
Duties and responsibilities of the Service Engineer include:
- Creation and testing of PLC and HMI/SCADA software applications primarily using Siemens
- Reading, interpreting & changing code
- Fault- finding
- Read wiring and electrical diagrams
- Traceback and test IO faults
- Working on customer sites to create plans to upgrade machinery
- Commissioning on customer sites in both the UK and abroad
- Effectively communicate project status to the Service Team Lead, customers and suppliers
- Plan resource requirements with the Service Team Lead
- Provide technical input at internal and external design review meetings
To be successful in this Service Engineers role you will need the following experience/skills:
- Apprentice trained or degree qualified – Electrical biased
- Proficient in the use of Allen Bradley and Siemens programming platforms
- Integration of robotics/ vision systems/ servo drives into automation solutions.
- Background in Process Automation
- Strong communication skills
Due to international travel candidates are required to have a UK passport and driving licence.
