Service Manager - Mental Health

They are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Interim Service Manager to work with their mental health support services. This role is being recruited with the dual purpose of working with existing services where management and leadership capacity is stretched and of leading the mobilisation of new services which our client anticipates receiving funding for very shortly.
Salary: £33,000 - £37,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours (28 hours may be negotiable for the right candidate)
Duration: 6 – 9 month contract

Location: Guildford with some travel across Surrey (mileage paid)
Our client is making a positive impact in the community by providing essential mental health support to those in need. The Service Manager is a critical role, ensuring the smooth operation and management of our services during this interim period.
It is important that you are able to drive continuous improvement, building strong relationships with delivery partners, providing high quality services, on budget and in line with the service specifications. Building a culture where staff are valued and listened to is key and working hands on to develop and manage your teams.
The successful candidate will have the skills and experience to step into and lead through challenging situations. They will also be able to work in a constructive and collaborative partnership environment with key partner organisations, including the NHS, commissioners and other VCSEs.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery of services:
- Lead and manage delivery of services, in line with the service specification of those services.
- Monitor and manage service contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Liaise with external partners and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
- Ensure services are delivered within budget and to a high standard.
- Identify and address any issues or risks related to the service contract.
- Lead, mentor, and support a dedicated team of service staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure staff adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of service data.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting.
- Utilize data to inform service improvements and decision-making.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Our ideal applicant will have/be:
- Proven experience in a management role ideally within mental health, the charity sector or a similar environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent data analysis and reporting abilities
- In-depth understanding of service contract management
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- An understanding of Safeguarding policy and practice
- Knowledge and skills of engagement, motivational, and behaviour change approaches
- Ability to travel and work flexibly
