Salt are currently partnered with a global MSP provider who require a Servicenow Data Governance Engineer to join them on an initial 12 month rolling contract.

The role is hybrid (Surrey/SW London) & is inside IR35. Day rate is negotiable DOE and pays a maximum of c£370 per day.

Duties

We are seeking a Data Governance Engineer who will be accountable for enriching, managing, and ensuring the quality of organizational and product usage data, with a focus on efficient query writing. They will enforce data governance policies and best practices, as well as develop documentation on data assets.

Role includes:

  • Instrument data collection on the ServiceNow platform
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of data flow within the business
  • Partner across multiple data teams
  • Identify data integrity issues and conduct root cause analyses
  • Develop workflows, processes, SLAs, and documentation for product usage data governance

Skills

  • 5 years + in big data analytics, database management, or an equivalent analyst position
  • 3 years + developing on the ServiceNow platform
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL and an additional object-oriented programming language
  • Experience in big data instances such as Cloudera, Azure, Snowflake, etc.
  • Structured thinking with the ability to break down ambiguous problems and propose impactful data modeling designs
  • Ability to roll out analytics dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau Server)
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements

Education

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and products.
  • Experience working in Scrum/Agile development environments.
  • Familiarity with IT service management software (ITSM), PaaS, and SaaS.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
