The Settlement Data Analyst will, where appropriate, develop and produce reports and data extracts and use this data and their process knowledge to carry out business analysis to support and drive industry settlement performance. You'll produce reports of findings for internal and external customers and present these using a variety of methods. 

You'll work closely with internal stakeholders in the supporting the creation of data solutions, to support our customers with their settlement challenges and data alignment requirements. Work outputs will be on a defined regular basis, or ad hoc as directed by management. 

You'll also work closely with line management and peers to ensure that best practise is followed and that assessment and application of data is accurate, with expectations managed. There will be a frequent need to attend internal and external meetings, with contribution to discussion expected. 

As the Settlement Data Analyst will support Callisto services including DC/DA, Business AMR (Electric), Pedestrian Meter Reading including Gas Portfolio Management, Market Wide Half Hourly and other new products as they are developed. Reporting or process knowledge may also be needed for other Morrison Data Service / M Group business units. 

This role reports into the Insight Team lead and it can be based from either our Nottingham or Newcastle office. Hybrid approach.

 Industry settlement knowledge required. What you'll be doing:
  • Responsible for creating Management Information (MI) and doing detailed data analysis, using Google / Microsoft reports such as Slides / PowerPoint and Sheets / Excel to deliver and present their findings and proposed solutions where appropriate.
  • Identify and maximise efficiencies in settlement processes to help generate internal value within the organisation, whilst ensuring compliance is maintained within existing industry guidelines and legislation. 
  • Writing / optimising reports to support the core BAU processes.
  • Assisting in the development of proposals to internal / external customers.
  • Facilitating the provision of added value via process and data analysis.
  • Analysing business processes relating to Electric and Gas.
  • Focus point for the generation of ad-hoc and planned reports for internal and external parties.
What we need from you: 
  • Industry settlement knowledge
  • Analytical capabilities with experience of problem solving.
  • Numerate and literate with a good general level of education.
  • Able to use a computer with knowledge of Microsoft and / or Google products. 
  • Able to present results of findings verbally and in written form – Google Docs / Microsoft Word.
  • Good working knowledge of Google sheets / Microsoft Excel and Google slides / Microsoft PowerPoint.  
  • Knowledge of and technical skills using SQL or equivalent for data analysis and extraction.
