Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, skilled Sheet Metal Worker/Welder to join our team as a subcontractor. In this hands-on role, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and tackle new challenges daily across mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans
Perform MIG and TIG welding of thin plate mild steel and stainless steel components
Operate CNC press brakes, laser cutters, and other metalworking equipment
Fabricate precise, high-quality metal parts, enclosures, frames, and assemblies
Maintain clean and safe workstation, adhering to health and safety protocols
Requirements:
Time-served background as a Sheet Metal Worker with proven welding experience
Extensive MIG and TIG welding skills for mild steel and stainless steel (essential)
Ability to read and work from technical drawings and manufacturing plans (critical)
Experience operating CNC press brakes (preferred)
Aluminium welding experience (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship
Reliable, punctual, and committed to meeting deadlines
Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM - 4:15 PM, Friday 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly rate of £16 - £18/hour
Annual bonus based on company performance (approx. 2 weeks' pay)
Occasional paid overtime at 1.5x rate (rare requirement)
