We are seeking a dedicated Shift Chemist for a permanent position within our Engineering & Manufacturing department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial/manufacturing chemistry, with a focus on metal alloys.

Description
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
* Follow instructions to prepare and analyse samples to agreed timescales and to evaluate the chemical acceptability of product to internal and external standards reporting the results obtained.
* Plan workload and analysis schedules in conjunction with the production departments so that agreed volumes and time targets are met.
* Calibrate and maintain instrumentation in laboratory to ensure minimum downtime.
* Liaise and communicate effectively with other departments as required.
* Work to required standards and assist in maintaining quality systems/standards
* Suggest and prepare amendments to internal instructions /methods as required, as well as those resulting from development and validation of new methods.
* Raise internal nonconformance as required
* Comply with company working and safety practices and polices
Profile
A successful Shift Chemist should have:
- A degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment, particularly with metal alloys.
- A strong understanding of analytical methodologies and laboratory instrumentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and team-working abilities.
