We are seeking a Shipping Coordinator to provide efficient coordination and administrative support Imports/Exports activities. This role is crucial for ensuring regulatory compliance and effective global movement of goods, meeting both internal and external customer requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage all aspects of imports for the UK operations, including customs matters, warehousing, and IPR suspension.
  • Track the ETA of imports, communicating updates to the Purchasing Department.
  • Arrange export shipments across various modes of transport and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Support the flow of information between departments such as Goods-in, Sales, Labs, Planning, and Shipping.
  • Implement new structures and systems to support business operations.
  • Maintain and update information in JDE and other business systems.
  • Monitor changes within the freight industry to stay compliant with legislation.
  • Evaluate service and costs of freight agents to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Provide logistical support across various departments as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Shipping experience is essential
  • Knowledge of Incoterms
  • Dangerous Goods by Air, Sea, or Road qualifications are desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in Import and Export is beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven initiative and the drive to make continuous improvements.
  • Advanced PC literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
