Site Maintenance Operative / School Caretaker / Groundskeeper, known within the Trust as a Premises Officer,who has general knowledge of building maintenance procedures and relevant skills such as plumbing, electrics and decorating is required for a Schools Trust, based in Bristol, South West England.
SALARY: £23,048 - £24,113 per annumpro rata+ Interim Allowance+ Benefits
LOCATION: Bristol, South West England (BS16)
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (going to 0.5FTE after a year)
WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week (all year round)
Please note: A full, clean driving licence is essential

As the Site Maintenance Operative / School Caretaker / Groundskeeper you will play a vital role in maintaining the school’s environment and ensuring the safety and comfort of the community.
Working as the Site Maintenance Operative / School Caretaker / Groundskeeper you will handle diverse responsibilities from grounds maintenance to security duties, contributing to the smooth operation of the school.

DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as the Site Maintenance Operative / School Caretaker / Groundskeeperwill include:
- Maintain the premises, grounds, and car park, ensuring cleanliness and safety, and perform emergency weather-related tasks
- Manage incoming goods and mail, set up rooms for events, and handle janitorial duties to support school operations
- Perform maintenance and handyperson tasks, including painting and grounds upkeep, and monitor car park usage
- Conduct security activities, such as unlocking/locking the school, setting alarms, and responding to security incidents
- Assist with fire alarm tests, fire drills, and emergency responses, and support other projects as needed
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Good communication skills; written and verbal
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Numeracy and Literacy
- General knowledge of building maintenance procedures and relevant skills
- Understanding of Health and Safety and security issues
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good organisational skills- ability to meet deadlines and make decisions in emergencies
- Full, clean driving licence
