Job Title: Site Supervisor

Location: Kent

Salary: £30,000 + OTE + Bonus

Hours: Core hours Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm (expected to be on site for start time, travel to site paid at OT rate)

Role Summary:

We are seeking a competent and proactive Site Supervisor to oversee the installation and maintenance of storage systems at various client locations. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating with clients, managing a team of Fitters and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to build programmes.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • Ensure all contractors work to the build programme.
  • Brief Contracts Managers and Customers daily on project progress.
  • Manage the quality control of contractor's work.
  • Carry out toolbox talks with trades under our contractual control.
  • Manage H&S on site.
  • Work closely with the Contracts Manager on delivery schedules.
  • Manage plant maintenance.
  • Manage contractors time keeping.
  • Maintain set growth profit margins.
  • Collect and deliver small deliveries to ensure projects keep to schedule.
  • Take progress pictures through each project for future case studies.
  • Manage waste on site to mitigate slips, trips and falls.
  • Ensure Load Notices are fitted to all racking, shelving and mezzanines.
  • Log reports and survey findings.
  • Follow up all meetings with emails.
  • Update the Estimating Team via email to ensure they have captured specific client requirements.
  • Work to instruction, off building plans, Mezzanine floor plans and Racking plans.
  • Conduct pre installation site surveys ensuring approved designs fit within the building.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors on site to discuss final detail requirements.
  • Follow method of works, scheduling and H&S considerations.
  • Identify hazards that may impede the installation team or design team.
  • Ensure each construction phase has been signed as per pre-project planning.
  • Assist the OP's in collating all the O+M documentation.
  • Ensure plant is off hired when not required.
  • Ensure working areas are clean and presentable to the client.
  • Account for all company owed items.
  • Methodically and efficiently work through any snags list with the tradesman to ensure prompt sign off.
  • Report accurate on-site build amendments to the Op's Director via Microsoft email, Site Audit Pro.
  • Be the main point of contact between the client, contractors and the Op's Director.
  • Represent the company/brand to the highest professional standards.
  • Work through a project focusing on the methods and principles.
  • Provide daily updates to the Op's Director.
  • Deal with contractor challenges on site in a professional manner.
  • Create working relationships with Principal Contractor.

Experience and skills required for this position:

  • Knowledge of pallet racking, shelving and mezzanine floors.
  • Previous experience within this role or similar.
  • Be an efficient user in Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Have strong attention to detail.
  • Be able to retain information.
  • Understanding designs and transferring to site.
  • Knowledge of Building Control Regulations.
  • Demonstrate firm detailed knowledge on all projects under their Supervision.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Take ownership and pride with every task undertaken.
  • Remain calm and logical under pressure.
  • Have a proactive mind set with a can-do attitude in this role.
  • Have a positive attitude.
  • Have diligence, integrity and honesty.
  • You must have an IPAF and CSCS card.
  • Ideally you will hold SSSTS, SMSTS and a forklift certificate (desirable)
  • Ideally you will have knowledge of Construction Design Management (desirable)
  • Ideally you will have previous experience of working on the tools (desirable)

Additional Information:

  • Supervisors usually clock up 40,000 miles travelling per year
  • Supervisors are expected to arrive on site every day between 7.00am-8.30am
  • You may be required to stay away over night, usually 1-2 times
