My client is an established and leading provider of precision engineering solutions and services, supplying a variety of precision machined components in Stainless Steel and High Nickel Alloys for Aerospace and Scientific equipment and components. With a commitment to quality and innovation, they take pride in their skilled team and cutting-edge technology. As they continue to grow, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Sliding Head Lathe Machinist to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating Sliding Head Lathes to manufacture close tolerance Aerospace and Scientific instrument components to customer drawings and specifications.
Working Hours - Monday to Friday (37.5 Hours Day Shift)
Overtime to be worked when required
£16.00 to £20.00 Hour Dependent on Experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, Set and Operate Sliding Head Lathes to perform required tasks
- Produce tightly tolerance components
- Check and maintain machinery to ensure functionality
- Monitor work produced, ensuring the highest level of quality
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications
Experience Requirements:
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or higher
- Ability to program, set and operate Citizen Sliding Head Lathes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Ability to understand tolerances, geometric & surface finish requirements
- Experience of working with Stainless Steel and Nickel Alloys
- Knowledge of correct tip grade and cutting tool selection
- Good level of knowledge in inspection equipment and techniques
- Strong attention to detail
- Previous knowledge of Fanuc and/or Mitsubishi programming
