A Slitter Setter / Operator is required for a well-established steel processing company based near the Rowley Regis area. Duties include setting and operating a wide coil slitting line, processing various types of steel coil.
Full Duties include -
- Setting and running a wide coil slitting line, processing coils up to 1500mm wide
- Checking and setting of shimless tooling on the machine using Edgemaster
- Selecting and using correct tooling for slitting heads and separators
- First off, in process and final quality checks using measuring equipment
- Loading and unloading of coil onto the machinery using a pendant overhead crane
Applicants should be experienced with setting and running a slitting line, with an excellent awareness of health & safety checks and following procedures, as well as promoting good housekeeping on the machine.
The role is working mornings to begin with, there is a plan to move onto rotating shifts once work levels pick up, so flexibility is required. The rates and hours are as follows;
- Working mornings; 6:00am - 2:00pm
- Paying: £14.27 per hour
- + £63.00 per week shift allowance (after probationary period)
- + £21.00 per week production bonus (after probationary period)
Once these bonuses are in effect you will be earning in the region of £16.37 per hour for a 40 hour week.
The position is with a view to a permanent role for the right person, though please bear in mind that you will be on the agency for an extended period of time.
