Exciting Opportunity at Barnet Council for a Social Worker

Barnet Council is seeking dedicated and experienced Social Workers to join our Children with Disabilities Team. This role offers manageable caseloads, supportive management, and excellent training and promotional prospects within a robust organisational structure.

Role Overview:

Flexible Working Arrangements:

  • Minimum of 2 days in the office, tailored to family needs, team meetings, supervision, etc.
  • Flexibility can be discussed with the line manager.

Duty Week:

  • For Duty & Assessment Team roles, Social Workers are expected to be in the office all week every 4 weeks.

Council Recognition:

  • Rated 'Good' by Ofsted.

Support Services:

  • In-house mental health service providing direct support to Social Work teams.

Salary Package:

  • £39,951 - £44,019 per annum (basic salary)
  • Additional 20% retention bonus for all candidates
  • Option for a lower-cost pension scheme with a supplement of up to 17% of the base salary
  • Total compensation package: £54,732.87 - £60,306.05

Role Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in social work teams, including an ASYE year.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the legislative framework and policies related to safeguarding children.
  • Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, particularly in writing assessments and plans for young people.
  • Impact: Proven ability to demonstrate positive outcomes for children and influence professional networks.
  • Engagement: Innovative and positive engagement with children and families in their assessments and plans, committed to delivering high-quality services and interventions in collaboration with various agencies.
