We are searching for a C# .NET Software Developer (SLA) to join an innovative and forward-thinking provider of fleet and asset management software.

  • Up to £55,000 pa, dependent on experience
  • Remote/Hybrid - Occasional meetings in Tamworth office
  • 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays + 1 extra day each year (up to 35 days)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designing, developing, modifying, and maintaining our client’s range of software products in line with published standards and guidelines.
  • Promote and advocate best practices within the development team and throughout the business.
  • Provide mentorship to junior members of the team.
  • Perform code reviews.
  • To support and maintain existing software functionality; to investigate, analyse and correct identified defects within established service level agreements.
  • To investigate existing software functionality to answer support queries within established service level agreements.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Proven experience developing Windows Forms applications in C# or VB.NET
  • Web development experience in ASP.NET MVC
  • Unit testing experience
  • An ability to debug large, multi-solution, multi-layer projects.
  • Object Oriented programming practices, SOLID principles and design patterns.
  • SQL, Microsoft SQL Server (2012 onwards), relational database design and performance diagnostics, with an ability to write and optimise SQL queries.
  • Good working knowledge of Object-Oriented programming practices, SOLID principles and design patterns
  • Experience in version and source code management
  • UK resident with unrestricted rights to work in the UK; please note we cannot offer sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Entity Framework
  • Experience in working with financial software or in the financial sector
  • Web API, REST API and API Design
  • Front-end: CSS3 & HTML
  • Javascript Frameworks, specifically Knockout (Javascript MVVM frameworks)
  • An understanding of security considerations when designing and developing public-facing applications and API endpoints.
  • DevOps and deployment of projects
  • Developing Windows Services
