Solicitor Apprentice (Employment Law)

A London based specialist employment law firm has an opportunity for an Employment Law Paralegal that wants to develop their expertise in employment law with the flexibility to work from home. You will get responsibility from the start, but with lots of support to develop, including in areas most Law Firms do not address, such as sales, marketing, and negotiation. (All of which are needed to become a successful lawyer.)

The Firm is looking to offer funding to complete the Solicitor Apprenticeship to qualify as a solicitor by passing the SQE exams.

Currently, they are working remotely, which has been very successful for them. There will be opportunities to work in their London office on an ad-hoc basis (the initial training will take place in London).

The Role

The role will involve triaging and contacting potential clients via telephone who have already enquired with them.

Sales / Call Centre experience is desirable as a large part of the role is calling potential clients and discussing how their services can support them (there is no cold calling).

The role will involve supporting the Firm’s Principal (a Barrister) with business and legal support.

There will be plenty of opportunities to manage your own cases and to receive feedback and training on important aspects such as drafting and handling your caseload effectively.

A law degree or GDL is required.

Living a commutable distance from London is desirable as the initial training will take place in London and there will be ongoing in-person opportunities to work in London.

The Firm

They are a specialist employment law firm that represents individuals. The Firm was founded by a specialist employment law barrister.

They cover all areas of employment law, with a focus on negotiating exits and employment tribunal litigation.

They are London based, but they represent clients nationwide. Currently, they are working remotely, which has been very successful for them. There is no need to be London based, although the initial onboarding process may take place in person at their London office unless this is not feasible.

The Candidate

• Some experience in English employment law (Claimant or Respondent).
• Law Degree or GDL.
• Be passionate about helping individuals.
• An ideal position for someone looking to qualify via the SQE routes.
• Sales / Call Centre experience is desirable.
• Availability during core hours (9 to 5.30).
• Ability to work remotely.
