Job Description:

TSR Legal is currently partnering with a multi-office Legal 500 firm based in Cardiff, who is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Solicitor to join the Contentious Probate team on a full-time, permanent basis. Responsibilities:

  • Handle new client enquiries.
  • Manage a caseload under the supervision of the departmental head.
  • Take instructions, advise clients on merits, and manage cases through to resolution.
  • Draft legal documents and pleadings and collaborate with counsel and experts.
  • Meet personal productivity targets and contribute to departmental goals.
  • Uphold the firm’s professional standards and quality benchmarks, adhering to the SRA’s Standards and Regulations.
  • Cross-sell other firm services when appropriate and support business development and networking initiatives.
  • Assist in producing department-specific marketing materials under the supervision of the marketing team.
  • Accurately record all work on the time recording and case management systems.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, including the supervision of junior colleagues when needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, primarily in contentious probate.
  • Membership of ACTAPS is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong legal and leadership skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels.
  • Team player with excellent general IT skills, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
  • High level of literacy and numeracy.
