Solicitor - Industrial Disease
Zest Recruitment and Consultancy have an opportunity for an NQ-2 year PQE Solicitor to join our client's firm in Oxford within the Industrial Disease team.
The Industrial Disease team specialise purely in assisting sufferers of asbestos-related diseases, including mesothelioma, lung cancer, asbestosis and diffuse pleural thickening, and their families
Duties will include:
- Assist partners and senior lawyers with their caseload of files dealing, effectively with cases and transactions.
- Attend client meetings, court hearings and conferences.
- Deal directly with clients to take instructions and ensure full understanding in order to deliver on client expectations.
- Works closely with partners and senior lawyers to develop client relationship skills.
- Effectively scope and price work, under supervision
- Raise personal profile and attract delegated work; take responsibility for aspects of BD projects within the department.
- Take responsibility for aspects of business development projects in the department.
- Research and draft article and assist with the production of marketing materials.
- Begin to develop a network of clients, contacts, and potential referrers; attend relevant networking events.
- Manage time recording, WIP monitoring and billing consistently on own and others’ files and matters.
Skills, Experience and Attributes
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive 0-2 PQE
- Previous experience within claimant personal injury or clinical negligence (ideally asbestos litigation experience).
- Ability to manage own time and workload.
- Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service
- Excellent communication skills
- Keen interest in business development and marketing
