Sous Chef

Location: Burgh Island
Salary - £34,000.00 per annum
Working hours - 48 hrs a week (Working 5 days).

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at the iconic Burgh Island Hotel!

We are now looking for a passionate Sous Chef who would like to join a fantastic team to deliver an excellent and memorable experience. Assist the head chef in the maintenance of the highest standards of food preparation and presentation, whilst learning new skills as a Sous Chef, here at Burgh Island!

Responsibilities for the role:
* Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
* Check the quantity and quality of received products.
* Ensure that cleanliness if of the highest standard
* Work with head chef to ensure departmental compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g. COSHH, HAACP, Fire & Food Hygiene)
* In absence of head chef arrange for equipment purchases or repairs.

General duties:
* To be constantly vigilant in respect of H+S issues and report risks
* Taking responsibility of all HR matters
* Ensure all emergency procedures are viable and communicated.
* Attend meetings as required.
