The Recruitment Co are hiring for a Sous Chef in St Andrews!

Pay: £14.35 per hour.

Contract: Ongoing Temporary

Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7, must be flexible.

Location: St Andrews

Duties:

  • Assisting the head chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including ensuring that the head chef's commands are followed.
  • Training and supervising kitchen staff, including helping them carry out the head chef's intentions for cooking and plating.
  • Coordinating food preparation, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards, and providing meal quality and consistency by following recipes.
  • Ordering food and kitchen supplies, managing inventory, and monitoring ordering and stocking.
  • Maintaining food safety, health and safety (HSE), and hygiene standards.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
  • Accuracy and speed in handling situations and providing solutions.
  • Familiar with industry's best practices.
  • Knowledge of food preparation methods and presentation.
