About Us:

We are a well-regarded Pupil Referral Unit, recently rated 'Good' by OFSTED (May 2024). Our school provides alternative education for pupils who attend for various reasons, including long-term placements for Years 10 and 11, and support for students excluded from their home school for more than 5 days. We aim to equip pupils with the tools and understanding required to take ownership of their emotional wellbeing, behaviours, and social developments through high-quality learning experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Role:

We are seeking an excellent Maths Teacher to join our talented team. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Maths to KS4. Additional experience teaching other subjects is an advantage but not essential. Both experienced teachers and NQTs are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Inspire and engage all types of learners, fostering independence and confidence.
• Maintain high expectations for yourself and your pupils, with a track record of accelerating pupil progress.
• Implement strong behaviour management skills.
• Communicate effectively at all levels with pupils, staff, parents, and the wider community.
• Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

• Experience teaching Maths to KS4.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• An engaging teaching style.
• High expectations for pupil progress.
• A good sense of humour and the drive to go the extra mile.

About Our School:

We can accommodate up to 40 pupils at any one time, taught in small groups supported by dedicated staff. Our pupils receive regular, specific interventions to match their needs. We work closely with referring schools, onward destinations, and various agencies to support pupils holistically throughout their educational journey. Our robust rewards and behaviour policy includes mindfulness work and detentions where necessary.
