Special Needs Teacher – September 2024

This vibrant SEND secondary school is looking to add a Special Needs Teacher to the team to teach a small Key Stage 3 class.

The school itself has a warm and welcoming feel, teachers and teaching assistants work closely together to ensure that every day is special for each child. As a Special Needs Teacher at this school, you will be teaching a pathway curriculum for children with moderate learning needs and a primary diagnosis of autism.  This role requires a creative, empathetic and caring teacher who is passionate about enabling children with special educational needs to overcome the barriers that they face. QTS is required for this role and unfortunately this role is not suitable for an ECT.
Job Role:
  • Teaching a small class of KS3 students with moderate learning needs.
  • Utilising Teaching Assistants to provide children with outstanding support.
  • Ensuring that your class is a welcoming and nurturing environment for students.
  • Planning lessons that are engaging and tailored to the ability levels in the class.
  • Taking part in whole school activities and inspiring a love for learning.
  • Working with a range of moderate learning needs, utilising Makaton and PECs.
