Special Needs Teaching Assistant required to work with a mixed age range of SEN children in the alternative provision of a Romford School. Experience and knowledge of working with Challenging Behaviour, Autism, Pre Verbal & Non Verbal would be an advantage.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant or Youth Worker to make a real difference to their young lives.

To Start : September 2024

Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 3.45pm

Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role & Qualification:

  • To support a mixed age range of SEN students with Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Pre Verbal & Non Verbal.
  • Managing the student’s behaviour and employing de-escalation skills when required.
  • Able to identify & manage triggers and traits.
  • To work as a team alongside the class teacher with the students learning and development within the classroom.
  • Team Teach trained would ideally be essential or be prepared to be trained in this area.
  • L2/L3 Teaching Assistant, Care or SEND qualification.
  • Youth worker background or supporting children within the care sector.
