We are seeking a caring and confident Special Needs Teaching Assistant to assist Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5 pupils for our special needs school based in East Grinstead.

This is a Temporary role which will be available to become permanent for the successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant.

The SEN School values Nurturing, Pupil growth and Independence alongside supporting students unique development and the Safeguarding of their pupils, which are all key requirements necessary to the role.

The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant must be readily available to work in September, clear in all communications with the students and staff, has an enthusiastic and supportive attitude, can assist in creating strong and professional learning journeys for the students during their educational journey and can confidently face challenges that may arise with the Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5 pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the teacher with educating the Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5 pupils with patience, support and encouragement
  • Assist Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5 pupils with any class work and tasks provided by the Teacher
  • Assist the teacher in any planning for future classes
  • 1:1 sessions with specific pupils in need of extra support
  • Be a listening ear to Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5 pupils and a supportive role model

Candidate Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in assisting Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5 Epileptic, Complex Neurological Conditions and ASD pupils
  • Able to drive due to the school's location
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C or Level 5 and above.

Job Summary

  • Location of the school is in East Grinstead.

  • Pay- £85-100 per day.

    This is equivalent to £425-£500 per week Full-Time. Day rate is dependent on qualifications and experience.
  • Hours- 9.00am- 16.00pm Monday-Friday. Full-Time and Part-Time roles available.

  • September 2024 start
  • The role is temporary to permanent for the successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant
  • The Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role will be Full Time preferably, however Part Time opportunities are available.
  • Year- Key Stages 1-5 (Years 1-11, age 5-16).
  • Some roles available in Key Stage 5 (Years 12-14, age 16-19).
