As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your commitment and empathy will help create a nurturing and stimulating educational environment for our students in Castleford.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist primary-aged students with severe learning difficulties and complex autism in their daily activities and learning.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals to implement Education Care Plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of each student.
  • Provide individualised and small group support, adapting to the unique needs of the students.
  • Work with school staff and parents to ensure a comprehensive approach to the child's development and well-being.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in SEN settings.
  • Experience working with primary-aged students with severe learning difficulties and complex autism.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on children with diverse needs.
