Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

Grade: Band 6

Department: Community Neurorehabilitation Service

Location: Beckwith House, Wellington Road, Stockport, SK7 2DZ

Trust: Stockport NHS Foundation Trust

Shift Pattern: 34.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pay rate: £21.79

Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with communication challenges? Stockport NHS Foundation Trust are currently seeking experienced Speech and Language Therapists to provide a high quality, responsive service for patients in the community.

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital care for children and adults across Stockport and the High Peak, as well as community health services across Stockport.

The Trust provides a wide range of services emergency, surgical and medical services and community health services to a population of 300,000 people in Stockport as well a range of community health services are run across 24 sites in Stockport. The Trusts’ cancer services have also been recently rated among the best in the country.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage a varied caseload of patients including stroke, neurological conditions, dementia and other acquired communication/swallowing disorders.
  • assess, diagnose, plan and deliver treatment programmes to patients in their care, using evidence-based treatments
  • will promote independence, function and integration within the community using a multi-disciplinary approach
  • be responsible for own caseload in the clinical setting, including patients with complex needs, working without direct supervision

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Post graduate dysphagia training
  • Experience working in a community setting
  • Previous experience within stroke and neurology assessment/rehabilitation
  • Valid UK Drivers licence and access to a vehicle
