Children's Speech and Language Therapy roles

Band 5 or Band 6 Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist

Trust: Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust

Location: Wayside House, Wilson’s Lane, CV6 6NY

Hours: Up to 37.5/week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 16:30, Part time can be considered

Length:6 months from start date

Specifics:

  • Have SLT clinical experience of working with children with a variety of clinical needs
  • The role will need to be face to face (though some home working for clinical admin tasks may be possible).
  • B5 can be considered as long as not newly qualified, has experience with children, post grad experience (9 months to a year) (Not just placements), RCSLT signed off.
  • To assess, treat and manage own caseload of children and young people with communication disorders and to maintain associated clinical records.
  • To supervise the work of assistants, students, and other less experienced therapists.
  • Full time preferred, 3 days a week, will consider lesser days based upon the right candidate.
  • Working in mainstream primary schools with potential of secondary/ special.
  • Therapy and intervention, not just assessments.
  • Be RCSLT registered
  • Previous NHS Experience
  • Be able to travel independently across the city on a regular basis.

Band 6 Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist

Trust: Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust

Base: City of Coventry Health Centre, travelling to different schools in the area

Shift Pattern: 37.5/week, Monday to Friday, 08.30-16.30

Specifics:

  • Only required in December 2024 for maternity cover
  • The postholder will visit schools to deliver regular therapy for children that have direct therapy specified in Section F of their EHCP
  • Carry out therapy, liaise with teachers, support teaching assistants to carry out therapy tasks, and update therapy plans
  • Predominately in mainstream primary schools, there may also be the requirement for sessions in nurseries, special schools and secondary schools but this can be discussed with the candidate
  • Admin/writing up notes can be completed at home or there will be available use of the office
  • Close work with a team of 40 OTs, PTs, & SLT with lots of support available
  • Paediatric & dysphagia experience is essential
