Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Hybrid - Office and school locations in Hampshire
Contract Type: Temp
2 types of positions available:
- Day Rate: (if working a block of days) to complete (e.g) a series of assessments
PAYE rate: £465.63
Umbrella/ LTD rate: £600
- Hourly Rate: For individual pieces of therapeutic activity
PAYE rate: £97.01
Umbrella/ LTD rate: £125
About the Role
To provide a Speech and Language Therapy service in line with current research and national guidelines to pupils within the school.
To assess, develop and implement speech and language therapy interventions as required across the school in partnership with parents/carers and other statutory and independent agencies to ensure a holistic approach towards the management of the pupil.
To work in a consultancy capacity in order to develop staff skills to meet the communicating needs of pupils across the school.
What is the day-to-day of the role:
- To be a source of expertise to colleagues, pupils, families and carers on the management and care of speech, language and communication difficulties or dysphagia.
- To develop effective work relationships with pupils and their families, colleagues in other statutory and independent agencies to ensure the holistic approach to the management of the pupil's case and to contribute to policy development.
- To participate in the development and delivery of training and education programmes, both within the school and to other agencies/professional groups, including participation in the induction of new staff.
- To continue to develop and monitor own clinical expertise through reflective practice and seeking knowledge and expertise, including technological advances from specialist colleagues.
- To be responsible for providing information to the Headteacher for the purpose of planning and policy development/issues including prioritising of needs relating to speech and language therapy within the school.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
- Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
- A minimum of four years post qualification experience of providing speech and language interventions to children
- Registered member of the Health Professionals Council (HPC) and holder of Licence to Practice
