Reed Further Education are registering sports assistants (enrichment officer) who are available for positions for the next academic year Sept 2024. We work with colleges and sixth forms in Birmingham. The colleges have many campuses across the city, however they will be required to travel across Birmingham to the various campuses when required.

The working hours would be Monday - Friday, 36.5 hours a week and the roles are on an ongoing temporary basis.

Job Title: Sports Assistant (Enrichment Officer)

Position: Mon-Fri, 36.5 hours

Role type: Temporary Ongoing

Location: Birmingham

Rate: £15.50p/h including holiday pay

Responsibilities:

You will manage and support the college's recreation and leisure facilities and plan and deliver key events and activities. They work with different teams, the Student Union and the community to offer enrichment activities that reflect diversity, cater to all students and foster personal development, good health and mental wellbeing. They keep records and statistics of the activities and comply with the college's systems and values.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum Level 2 in fitness and sports instructing or coaching
  • Minimum Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE C)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Previous experience working in a sport, leisure, recreation setting
  • Previous experience working with young people
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
