Sports Coach/Cover Supervisor - Fareham

Prospero Teaching are working with several secondary Schools in the Gosport and Fareham catchment area.

These schools are looking for candidates with a strong sports background to cover lessons in PE, as well as general cover. No experience is required, just a can-do attitude and a passion for being a positive role model to young people. Full training will be provided through Prospero's comprehensive CPD and online training platform.

The key role of a Cover Supervisor is to supervise and support students in the classroom. Lesson objectives and resources are fully provided to students, and there is no expectation to plan lessons in advance and mark books.

Although not actively teaching, it is important for a Cover Supervisor to have the skills and confidence needed to keep the class motivated and focused so they can work on the activities set and prepared for them. The role requires you to support pupils as they work through the lesson and to understand how to help them to complete tasks, where needed.

The position is open to candidates with a strong background in youth work, sports coaching, support work or related experience of mentoring children and young adults. If you are also a graduate wanting to gain valuable classroom experience before teacher training, this could be ideal for you!

Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

• Location - Fareham
• Position - Cover Supervisor
• Start date - September 2024
• Contract type - Temporary and/or permanent.
• Hours - 8.30 am to 3.00pm
• Full time/part time - Both
• Minimum rate of pay - £110 per day.

To be eligible the Cover Supervisor must have:

• Fully and enhanced DBS.
• Calm and nurturing approach
• Personable
• Reliable and hard working.
