SQL DBA - Fully Remote - £50K

Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen with our client for an experienced DBA. This opportunity is with a dynamic, data-driven SaaS organiSation boasting an impressive clientele. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and independent professional to join the team, supporting and enhancing their production environments.

The role is fully remote, and while their databases primarily operate on AWS RDS SQL Server, prior experience with this is not required.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Manage AWS RDS SQL Server databases
  • Monitor system's health and performance via AWS Console and other tools
  • Analyse, solve, and correct performance issues in real time
  • Provide suggestions for solutions
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
  • Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
  • Rectify developers SQL code from the point of performance impact
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
  • Run ad-hoc query from the management and support teams
  • Provide bug-hunting support on the SQL server. Change code (procedures, views, function, triggers) to correct a bug
  • Create and Restore Native backup for AWS RDS

Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of MS SQL Server, including creation of stored procedure, views and functions
  • Database design
  • T-SQL programming
  • 1+ years of performance tuning
  • Index analysis
  • Profiler
  • Performance monitor
  • AWS console: RDS Databases
  • Performance insight
  • Knowledge of Data Pipeline and Glue (Desirable)
  • Data warehousing

Package:
  • Up to £50K basic salary
  • Fully remote
  • 25 days annual leave
