SQL Developer - Local Authority
- Annual Salary: £45,441
- Location: Kirklees (Hybrid working, currently one day per month in the office, possibly moving to 1 day per week in the future)

We are seeking an innovative and creative SQL Developer to join our Data and Insight Service team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and deliver data products and services that support the delivery of business intelligence, analytics, and insights across the Council.
Day-to-day of the role:- Lead database design, development, maintenance, and management.
- Develop and implement automated data flows for analytics and business intelligence systems.
- Transition manual data flows to automated systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Create and maintain metadata repositories and apply best practice development standards.
- Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather, interpret, and analyse data requirements.
- Support ongoing improvements in data management and development within the Data and Insight Service.
- Utilise agile development practices and contribute to the success of the service.
- A degree with a strong data component (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics) or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server tools, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse and/or Data Factory.
- Familiarity with various SQL standards (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL).
- Advanced SQL skills for data transformation, extraction, and manipulation.
- Ability to design, manage, execute, and report tests using appropriate methods and techniques.
- Experience in data modelling and the ability to reverse-engineer data models from various systems.
- Experience in developing automated data flows and full software development life cycle.
- Knowledge of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and/or continuous deployment methods.
- Willingness to undertake line-management responsibilities and commit to personal and professional development.
