About the Role:
We are developing our Distribution and Credit Solutions platform and recently combined areas of our Investment Banking and Markets divisions to align functionality allowing for a properly integrated offering that can develop innovative, bespoke solutions for our clients.
Due to internal transfers we are now looking for someone to lead our Synthetic Risk Transfer offering. While we have already established this function over the past couple of years we want someone to take it to the next level originating new areas for business as well as executing trades.
This is a role offering a huge amount of freedom and flexibility to define our SRT offering both internally and externally and is ideally suited to an entrepreneurial and innovative thinker.
Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:
This position will focus on the marketing and structuring of synthetic risk transfer (SRT), regulatory capital and de-risking solutions, both for SG group and for third party clients. The role includes:
Lead transaction origination: identify assets within the group that could be subject to SRT transactions, work with colleagues across various teams explaining the solution and what it can offer clients, pitch structuring mandates to third party issuers
Product innovation: identify and propose new solutions and frameworks for SRT, regulatory capital and de-risking, lead new product committee approval
Lead transaction execution: lead execution of new transactions, including transaction documentation, manage discussions with counsels, perform transaction modelling (cash-flow models, rating agencies models, profitability pricing), perform data analysis (historical performance, portfolio statistics), regulatory approvals. Prepare credit application and other internal memorandum related to the transaction (risk and profitability analysis). Liaise with the various internal teams involved in the transaction execution and monitoring (sales, legal, tax, accounting, middle and back office).
Market watch: market intelligence, monitoring of regulatory changes, peers benchmarking, create and maintain market connectivity and a network with investors
Responsibilities:
- Lead origination and execution of transactions
- Prepare and review transaction documents and internal memos, credit applications and any other memorandum required for the transaction internal approval or renewal
- Develop innovative solutions
- Improve knowledge of Distribution and Credit Solutions (DCS) products offering, conduct market intelligence review, stay abreast of benchmark/comparable transactions on the market
- Develop transaction and client structuring and marketing ideas using the knowledge of DCS and full Investment Banking offering, understanding client needs as well as commercial, legal and regulatory frameworks
- Support commercial push on specific asset classes, countries, clients through study of the relevant area and generation of innovative structuring ideas
- Day to day relationships and coordination with internal parties (e.g. risk, legal, KYC teams, compliance, middle-office, syndicate) and external ones (e.g. clients, rating agencies, lawyers, auditors, corporate servicers/trustees or other third parties). Important coordination and team spirit expected with primarily the DCS teams in Europe and the wider DCS team members across the Americas and Asia, to ensure successful execution of distribution schemes towards investors on a global basis.
- Ensure that the highest standards of compliance and conduct are maintained. Role must be performed in accordance with the compliance rules inherent to the business as well as compliance with external regulatory rules, internal procedures and GLBA Handbook as regularly updated.
