Stock Condition Surveyor

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Location: Head Office, Festival Park, Stoke on Trent

Salary: £37,381.24 per annum

Are you an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor looking for a role within an Organisation that is at the heart of helping people to thrive? If so, this role may be for you. Since 1974, as a Registered Provider of Social Housing and Supported Accommodation we have been supporting those in need.   

We are looking for an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to join our team at our Stoke on Trent Head Office. You will play a key role in delivering housing and support services to customers who have been referred through the Local Authority and other service providers, ensuring appropriate safeguarding protocols are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking stock condition surveys on Brighter Futures properties and communal areas, collecting information with regards stock condition, age, repairs and remaining life of building components
  • Identifying repair and improvement priorities using stock condition information. Producing specifications, schedules of work and cost estimates and providing cost-effective options for buildings
  • Performing health and safety surveys in line with HHSRS
  • Performing Asbestos surveys and ensuring appropriate risk management protocols are in place
  • Supporting the delivery of a planned maintenance programme, services and asset management strategy
  • Providing regular management reports
  • Ensuring safety, customer satisfaction, quality and value for money are at the heart of our operations

What You will need:

  • An awareness of Building Safety Legislation, Heath & Safety Legislation and Landlord obligations together with a ‘safety first’ attitude and experience of dynamic risk assessment methodology including CDM 2015 regulations
  • A qualification (HNC or similar) in a Building/Estates Management discipline (or demonstrable similar level competence and experience)
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or higher)
  • Experience of conducting stock condition surveys, HHSRS surveys and managing repair and improvement programmes
  • Understanding of the Decent Homes Standard, it’s interpretation and application
  • Computer literate, able to use electronic information systems for building management and repair and improvement scheduling
  • A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for better ways to do things
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
