Storekeeper- Immediately Required

Location: Plymouth

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Length of Contract: 12 month maternity cover

Our well respected client is seeking a dedicated and organised Storekeeper to join their team to cover a 12 month maternity contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain computerised records of spares, clothing, and cleaning materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new ones to ensure best value procurement
  • Order equipment and clothing using procurement system and negotiate prices with suppliers
  • Monitor stock levels, ensure proper stock rotation, and maintain organised storage.
  • Populate and manage the asset register, conduct periodic stock checks, and reconcile the asset register
  • Check daily cleaning material requirements and mix bulk cleaning fluids
  • Manage the receipt, issue, and records of all equipment, clothing, and cleaning materials, including personal clothing and PPE for staff
  • Maintain cleanliness within the stores, use handling equipment safely, and perform any other reasonable duties appropriate to the grade of the post

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in store and inventory management
  • Experienced in negotiating and maintaining supplier relationships
  • Ability to propose changes and improvements to stock management
  • Knowledgeable about current Health and Safety regulations
