The candidate will be an integral part of Strategic Procurement department, utilising a corporate shared service structure (no direct factory ties) responsible for direct packaging raw materials.

This position will assist in developing regional raw material category strategies in cooperation with an internal, cross functional, team and will also be responsible for successfully executing those strategies.

The candidate will provide leadership in supplier segmentation, supplier scorecards, along with developing and executing comprehensive supplier strategies.

They will contribute in supplier development and validate the ensuing value creation. The candidate will be expected to support the annual raw material/supplier risk mitigation process with the goal of on-going risk reduction within individual raw materials and the supply community.

Assist in developing regional category strategies in alignment with internal stakeholders to drive value throughout the organisation. Responsible for executing the agreed upon strategies.
* Know and help evaluate potential suppliers of each category to assist in developing category strategies.
* Involvement in the on-going risk mitigation process of annual rating of suppliers and agreeing on new raw material projects that mitigate the associated risk. Execute the development plans for each key supplier to improve their risk profile.
* Initiate savings by utilising various strategies such as volume leverage, supplier concentration as well as negotiating prices and terms.
* Foster and maintain collaborative long-term partnerships with suppliers to improve total cost of ownership while reducing risk. Know the entire supply stream
* Support the creation, analysis, and reporting of raw material budgets
* Monitor key raw material markets, understand underlying drivers of those markets.
* Evaluate supplier performance against pre-determined metrics for OTIF, quality, price, innovation, cost savings and risk profiles.
* Ensure all procurement activities are lawful, ethical and follow Procurement policies.

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Purchasing, or Supply Chain or related.
* CIPS certification is a plus
* Packaging or Packaging related industry is desirable
* Experience with a Shared Services/centralised sourcing team is desirable.
* Demonstrated Supplier Relationship Management capability.
* Knowledge of risk management including contract development and management.
* Proven cost optimisation track record, including a demonstrated negotiation proficiency.
* Global/Regional sourcing experience.

* Effective communication and presentation skills to both internal and external entities.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and proven team-building experience.
* Ability to analyse raw material markets.
* Proven negotiation and contract development skills.
* Change management skills - an attitude/willingness to continuously improve on current processes.
* Self-motivated, quick learner, organised, multi-tasker.
* Strategic thinker.
