Castlefield Recruitment are in search of an experienced and dynamic Senior Strategic Finance Business Partner for Adults and Social Care on behalf of a well-respected council. This is a pivotal role requiring a strong financial leader with a proven track record in managing budgets within the public sector, specifically in adult social care. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial oversight and support during this critical interim period.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the financial management of Adult and Social Care services
  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial strategies to ensure the effective and efficient use of resources
  • Lead on the preparation and management of budgets, ensuring alignment with the council's financial regulations and policies
  • Deliver robust financial planning, forecasting, and reporting to senior management and stakeholders
  • Advise on financial matters, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and statutory requirements
  • Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders as necessary

Person:

  • A recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in a senior finance role within the public sector, ideally within Adult and Social Care
  • Demonstrable experience in financial planning, budget management, and financial reporting
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
