Structural Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Construction, Manufacturing, Concrete, Steel
- Liaise and work with the internal team of other mechanical/structural engineers and contract/business managers, and external parties such as experimental testing facilities and Universities
- Developing own knowledge and ability, path to Chartership. Continuous improvement activities to support business growth
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to continuously improve design practices and enhance construction efficiency
- Keeping senior management up to date on project status and progress
- Concept to detail engineering design stages of buildings and their structural elements.
- Using and developing in-house design, modelling and analysis tools
- Writing standard Eurocode compliant hand calcs, and embedding design code checks in workflow
- Producing CAD models, preparing and exporting models considering assembly and cost
- Working with clients via meetings, workshops and the design team, to solve problems. Providing updates on projects and its deliverables on a regular basis
Structural Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Construction, Manufacturing, Concrete, Steel
- Competent in applying a programming language to solve problems
- Comfortable in using CAD software, with an emphasis on Parametric Modelling
