Salary: Up to £45K, DOE
Working Hours:
Monday – Thursday, 8am -5pm, Friday 8am -1pm
Contract: Permanent
Gap personnel are proud to be working together with a leading furniture manufacturer brand, who are currently looking for a Structural Engineer to support busy Manufacturing company.
The job role is advertised as permanent one, and will be based in Cricklade, between Cirencester and Swindon.
Successful candidate must have proven experience in similar role, and will be working with Steel and Wood production products. Steel material experience is needed, for wood material products training can be delivered. The ideal candidate needs to have UK Structural engineering experience and an understanding of British Standards. Due to this role being leading one in the department, full support will be unavailable in this role.
Civil engineering qualification for this role is not suitable.
Job Duties:
- Structural checks and calculations of all products and variances
- Structural advice to technical and design including overall structural work, material selection and connection details
- Second checks as required to meet all customer specifications and to comply with best practises
- Providing site specific loadings and / or foundation design to customers as require
- Structural advice and estimating support to sales and purchasing
- Quantifying value engineering designs and opportunities through effective structural design
- Making sure the compliance and required standards are always met to relevant design standards
The individual one will be responsible for ensuring Structural Compliance of all products and working with other functions in the business to provide estimation and structural design advice.
Required skills and experience:
- Structural Engineering Qualification
- Member of relevant professional body
- Knowledge of relevant design standards including BS EN 1991, BS EN 1993 and BS EN 1995
- Clear logical thinking
- Organised
- Very good English reading, speaking and writing
- IT competent
Working Hours:
Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm
Friday 8am with early finish at 1pm
Salary offered for this role is up to £45K, DOE.
