Our client offers a range of exciting student-led adventures and volunteering programs that provide their participants with the opportunity to see the world while making a difference to disadvantaged communities overseas. Partnering with universities and student-led groups, they provide programs ranging from two weeks to three months throughout the year.

Part of their core proposition are fundraising challenges, promoted alongside student societies and select Challenge Leaders. These Challenges usually run for three weeks in the summer months and are focused on volunteering, giving a path for students to become global citizens.

Their aim is to excel in creating innovative overseas programs that are mutually beneficial to both the community and their volunteers and to become known as the organization of choice for responsible overseas volunteering. This role offers a lot of responsibility and the opportunity to develop personally and professionally, as well as amazing opportunities to travel overseas to see their programs firsthand!

Account Manager - Position overview:

The Account Manager will build and manage partnerships with universities and student organizations, recruit and mentor Challenge Leaders, and promote their programs to encourage student sign-ups. This sales role involves regular University campus visits, on-site marketing, and presentations.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Find, develop and maintain new partnerships with university departments and student groups.
  • Develop engaging marketing plans to recruit and sign-up students to their programs.
  • Creating and maintaining a high-quality sales pipeline from both cold and warm leads.
  • Utilizing various methods and platforms to discover and research qualified leads.
  • Identifying key stakeholders within universities or departments, attending networking events where appropriate.
  • Deliver regular presentations to students both in-person and virtually.
  • Increase the brand presence through social media, posters, flyers, etc.
  • Respond to student inquiries via email and instant messaging.

About you:

They are seeking an outgoing, entrepreneurial individual with a strong understanding of the key principles of business and marketing. You’ll be motivated by results but have a genuine interest in their products, with a desire to learn and quickly develop.

Mandatory attributes:

  • Excellent time management and organization skills (you’ll be expected to manage your own time and priorities).
  • Have a consultative approach and someone who can 'buildout’ newly developed partnerships.
  • Able to write sales proposals and truly understand requirements.
  • Able to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines and be self-motivated.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to deliver engaging and informative presentations - have thorough knowledge of their programs and products.
  • Goal orientated with ability to work under pressure.
  • Educated to at least BSc level at a UK University.
  • Hold a UK Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle.

Other desirable attributes:

  • A key understanding of the student fundraising market, specifically university challenges
  • Previous experience of promoting products to students
  • Personal experience of travelling and volunteering overseas

  • £24,500 FTE basic, with the opportunity to earn up to £28,500 OTE with an uncapped bonus.
