Contract type: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) - Permanent

Location: Sheffield, Sheffield International Study Centre

Salary: £ 27,264.18 per annum

Sheffield International Study Centre and its programmes are provided by Study Group in collaboration with the University of Sheffield.

You will be part of the welfare team; you will be supporting students who have welfare and SpLD needs. You will need to be highly organised, with strong ICT skills and a background in mental health and SpLD, ideally with international students.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Managing student welfare data, identifying trends and contributing to quarterly and annual reports
  • Communication and networking, liaising with stakeholders and external agencies
  • Working with and providing support services to students on a one to one or group basis
  • Organising and providing training, support, and informational resources to colleagues as required.
  • providing support and informational resources to international students during their studies
  • Acting as a lead on specific areas and deputising for the DSL/Head of Student Welfare

ABOUT YOU

  • Educated to degree level, or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of SpLD (Specific learning difficulties) and Mental health challenges.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage your own time.
  • Excellent record-keeping and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of safeguarding
  • Continue improvement and the ability to review and develop processes and procedures
  • Experience in working cooperatively with and motivating others
  • Experience working with students or clients for whom English is a second language or from an international background
  • Experience in delivering workshops or classes
  • High-level communication skills with an ability to communicate with key stakeholders including students in a professional and helpful manner
