My client is a world-class university that has a great working environment based in a great location in London with one of the best employee satisfaction scores in the Higher Education sector. . This department operates an on-site mode only with no option for hybrid working as you will be dealing with students on-site.

Your new role
Based in the Student Office, the Student Office Administrator will support the efficient administration of all taught programmes. They will be responsible for administrative aspects of coursework management, work placements/exchange programmes organisation and UROP, Erasmus, and occasional students. This involves working closely with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Senior Tutors, Admissions Tutor(s) and the MSc Course Director.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Must haves: Higher education experience and basic to intimidate use of using excel with formulas.
  • In-depth knowledge of Higher Education procedures and policies.
  • A track record of delivering excellent customer service - on the telephone, via electronic medium and face-to-face.
  • Administrative experience, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Experience of working with student record databases.
  • Proficiency in a range of computer-based procedures and software packages, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint)
  • An awareness of the student life cycle and pressures within an academic / higher education environment
  • Experience using and updating Blackboard Learn or a similar Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
  • Excellent organisational skills, good time management and ability to work to deadlines
  • Empathetic and friendly approach to colleagues, staff and students
  • Ability to problem-solve and show initiative
  • Ability to plan ahead and set priorities
  • Excellent tact and diplomacy skills
  • A high level of accuracy and consistent attention to detail
  • Proven ability to use initiative and work without supervision
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Adaptable and flexible to deal positively with changing circumstances
  • Ability to analyse situations and provide solutions to improve procedures
  • Flexible attitude towards working hours in a busy period
  • Willingness to undertake any necessary training for the role

A contract working for a prestigious and top tier university in a vibrant part of London. This role is a student-facing role and, therefore, it will be an on-site contract paying a competitive rate for 6 months with a potential extension.
