Job Title: Studio Photographer (Food and Beverage)

Location: West Yorkshire

Hours: Mon - Friday (fully on site)

Salary: Dependent On Experience

About my Client:

My client is looking for a talented Studio Photographer to join their team. They are a specialised Packaging Design agency who offer in-house design, production & technology services.

Purpose of a Studio Photographer:

As a Photographer, you will play a crucial role in capturing and preserving moments for their FMCG branded and retail clients. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will collaborate with internal account teams clients, designers, food stylists and other team members to ensure that the desired images are achieved.

Key responsibilities of a Studio Photographer:

  • Collaborate with clients and internal team members to plan and execute photo shoots.
  • Fine eye for detail to capture product shot in line with brand.
  • Select and set up appropriate equipment and props for each shoot.
  • Ensure proper lighting and composition for each shot.
  • Edit and retouch images to enhance their quality and aesthetics.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and techniques in photography.
  • Take the brief to understand specifications and work closely with our creative team to develop the concept.
  • Capture and process images until you achieve desired results.
  • Constantly improve image quality using various editing methods
  • Use and maintain modern and traditional technical equipment (cameras, lenses etc)
  • Arrange objects, scenes, lighting, and background to adhere to specifications.
  • Archive photographic images and maintain database.
  • Maintain an in depth understanding of photographic best practices and procedures.

Requirements for a Studio Photographer:

  • Manage and run a photography studio, including hiring home economists, and mentoring junior staff.
  • Proven experience as a professional food photographer, client facing.
  • Proficient in using DSLR cameras and other photography equipment.
  • Strong understanding of lighting techniques and composition
  • Excellent knowledge of photo editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom
  • Ability to work effectively against tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous, well organised, and technically proficient.
  • Proven professional shooting experience.
  • Eye-catching portfolio
  • Proficient with traditional and modern equipment, shooting, lighting, and printing skills.
  • Solid knowledge of Photoshop, Capture One or other photography specific software.
  • Competency in applying photographic best practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of production process and various printing applications
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Photography degree or similar
