The Role: Supervision and Development Consultant - M&G Wealth Advice

You will be joining an established supervisor team within M&G Wealth Advice, empowered and responsible for supervising, developing and helping Financial Advisers and Adviser firms in a number of ways from building long term relationships, business development, expanding and growing whilst ensuring businesses and Advisers stay aligned with our corporate objectives. We are looking for you to have experience in building relationships in a business to business environment, regulatory supervision role for self-employed advisers along with coaching and developing advisers and their businesses.

By joining this team, you can help a business during a growth phase and shape individual Advisers and businesses whilst supporting through the evolving regulatory landscape. You will be empowered to manage the contact strategy of your Spans of Control, ensuring that you are spending the right time with those that need additional support and play a key role to ensure we're meeting our regulatory requirements and supporting our Advisers to thrive.

This is a home based role and we are looking for someone to be based in the Scotland/ Northern England region or The Midlands.

Travel would be on the needs of the advisers you work with along with occasional travel to the regional offices for team meetings in the UK.

Key Responsibilities for this Role :
  • Oversee, coach and develop the individual advisers within your Spans of control (SPOC), being the first port of call for any queries and ensure they further increase their skills, knowledge and ability to best meet their goals
  • Manage the segmentation of each Adviser in your SPOC into an appropriate contact strategy. The contact strategy should appropriately reflect any issues identified in the business with appropriate and supportive audit trail to evidence actions taken and decisions made by yourself.
  • Perform the regulatory role of Supervisor for your SPOC within The Advice Partnership (TAP) carrying out supervisory activities to adhere to the Training and Competency Scheme o the needs of the business.
  • Carry out root cause analysis whilst evaluating and monitoring performance of your SPOC
  • Build long standing quality, business to business relationships with new and existing business owners and Advisers within TAP
  • Provide consultative and business development expertise to support SPOC business plans whilst sharing best practises across the business.
  • Support in the delivery of the businesses programme of development to Advisers within your SPOC, including ensuring all competence testing and ongoing training is completed timely and to the relevant standards
  • Support the M&G Wealth Strategy through key initiatives and change management as required across the business channels, enabling you to identify those that may need proactive additional support or be champions of change.
  • Deliver and embed training for business or regulatory change to your SPOC
  • Use judgement to strengthen our positive risk and control culture, by identifying, assessing and managing risk within your SPOC and business area
  • Contribute to the businesses governance framework whilst mitigating risk across your SPOCs contractual obligations or disciplinary issues in respect of their behaviour and conduct.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience of building relationships in a business to business environment
  • A background in working as or closely to a regulatory supervision role for self-employed advisers
  • Experience of coaching and developing self-employed advisers and their businesses
  • Strong knowledge of the financial advice market, including technical products and services
  • Previous exposure to overseeing conflict and delivering difficult or unpopular messages
  • L4 Diploma for Financial Advisers
  • Valid UK driving license
