Surveyor - Local Authority - Damp and Mould

- Salary: £18.53 PAYE / £25 Umbrella per hour

My client are looking for a proactive Surveyor to support their team and deliver operational duties within the service/business area. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively across the organisation, embodying their core values and contributing to their purpose, vision, and objectives. This role is integral to delivering high performance and continuous improvement, providing technical expertise in building maintenance and surveying, and contributing to our Asset Management Plan.
Day to Day of the Role:- Provide technical expertise on all aspects of building maintenance and surveying, ensuring high-quality standards in building works and associated services.
- Prepare detailed specifications for projects, undertaking preparatory, planning, and monitoring work to meet project requirements.
- Conduct stock condition surveys and contribute to the Asset Management Plan and Investment Strategy.
- Perform Professional Estimating and Quantity Surveying functions for various contractual agreements.
- Offer specialist advice on domestic gas heating, electrical services, and manage related projects and contracts.
- Deliver operational aspects of the service/business area, working collaboratively to monitor and improve performance indicators and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare professional communications and participate in team service reviews and planning.
- Act as an ambassador for the organisation, promoting its purpose, vision, and successes.
- ONC or equivalent (Level 3 BTEC in Construction and the Built Environment) or relevant City and Guilds qualification, or working towards such qualification.
- HNC or equivalent (Level 4 in the Construction and Built Environment) or equivalent experience in the Building Surveying environment, or working towards qualification.
- Experience with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Literacy and numeracy skills required for maintaining accurate records and writing high-quality communications.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding legislation relevant to the role.
- Good team working skills and the ability to work independently to achieve results.
- Ability to travel around the borough and willingness to work outside normal office hours if required.
