Cobalt have been exclusively instructed by a boutique property consultancy, who are positioned as specialist in the buoyant foodstore and retail warehousing sectors, to secure the appointment of another professional in their expert Asset & Transaction Advisory team. Experience from Assistant Surveyor to Associate Director will be considered.

The business was established by a group of industry leaders across five core specialisms and notably, the Asset & Transaction team advise a roster of reputable British and multi-national brands and PLCs, often on a repeat and retained basis. The team is extremely busy with various instructions (not strictly limited to retail) and are therefore eager to onboard this individual promptly and offer immediate training and support if required.

This is an active, engaging and client-facing role which requires the below:

Essential

  • Assistant Surveyor (relevant degree plus min. 1 year industry experience)
  • Surveyor, MRICS (min. 2-3 years PQE)
  • Associate, MRICS (min. 5-6 years PQE)
  • Detailed knowledge of lease renewals, rent reviews, rental and capital valuation
  • Experience in the preparation of Expert Witness Reports
  • Thorough understanding the retail/foodstore/leisure sector

Desirable

  • Development appraisals
  • Investment appraisals
  • RICS Registered Valuer

Skills

  • Excellent technical and writing skills
  • Strong understanding of the property sector
  • Natural communicator
  • Detailed knowledge of Excel
  • Strong understanding of L&T case law and general property law (desirable)

A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel nationally with occasional overnight stays are required.

Salary is commensurate with industry experience and professional qualification, plus a healthy bonus based on individual merit and team performance.
